Senator Mark Allen was pleased to welcome Billy Roberts of Roland to the Oklahoma State Capitol during session this year. Roberts is Governor Mary Fallin’s Executive Nomination to the Oklahoma Used Motor Vehicle and Parts Commission.
The Senate confirmation hearing with the Business and Commerce Committee was held on May 17 at 9:00 a.m., when Roberts was formally introduced and accepted by the committee. He will serve a six-year term as an at-large member, beginning July 1, 2016 and expiring June 30, 2022.
“Billy has been employed by the family auto recycling business since his graduation in 1972 and became co-owner with his father in 1992,” said Senator Allen. “He is very active in the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) and has served a total of about 17 years on the Board of Directors. Billy has been an automotive dismantler for 44 years, and has a thorough knowledge of the business. It was my pleasure to nominate Billy Roberts for this appointment and I have every confidence he will serve Oklahoma citizens fairly and well.”
