OKLAHOMA CITY – A contract was awarded this month for road improvements in Sequoyah County, Sen. Mark Allen and Rep. John Bennett recently announced.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the project will include construction of bridges and approaches along US-64, over Big Sallisaw Creek, 3.1 miles west of US-59 in Sallisaw.
Allen (R-Spiro) said the State Transportation Commission awarded a $5.5 million contract on the project to Glover & Associates, Inc. The Muskogee company was the lowest of three bidders for the job, said Bennett (R-Sequoyah).
Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed within eight months.
