A contract was awarded this month for road repairs in LeFlore County, Sen. Mark Allen and Rep. James Lockhart recently announced.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the project involves resurfacing nearly four miles of US-271 with asphalt, from the Arkansas state line, extending west.
Sen. Allen (R- Spiro) said the State Transportation Commission awarded over a $2.2 million contract on the project to Job Construction Co., Inc. The Poteau company was the lowest of three bidders for the job, said Rep. Lockhart (D-Heavener).
Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed in less than two months.
